Challenge: At Lynk Kenya, an MIT award-winning early-stage startup based in Nairobi, I was the sole product manager, working on developing the user-facing Pro App for Android. In order to automate its recruiting and matching functions, Lynk needed to transition from an SMS-based platform to an Android application.
Approach: For this project, I developed wireframes, built UX flowcharts, and managed our design contract with Isobar, our key design partner. I tested the prototype with end users to launch an app that actually fit local market needs. The pro-app design included the following key elements: mobile payments, task management, retail listing uploads, and contractor onboarding. I developed a product roadmap and managed feature development for our two in-house Android developers.
